FROMBORK AND ELBLAG TOUR
Frombork is a tourist & agricultural community and fishing port on Vistula Bay. This has been the seat of the Warmia bishopric since
the 13th century. Nicolas Copernicus spent thirty years of his life in Frombork, where he made some of his famous discoveries and wrote the
masterpiece - De Revolutionibus. He died in Frombork and lies buried in the Cathedral since the XIV century. Worth seeing in town:
Museum of Nicholas Copernicus, water tower and planetarium.
Elblag was heavily damaged in World War II and had its German citizens expelled. The city became part of Poland in 1945 and was repopulated with
Polish citizens.
The Elblag Old Town, which is under reconstruction, constitutes a flagship of this city. Worth seeing in town: St. Nicholas Cathedral - monumental
Gothic church from XIII century, St. Mary's Church - former Dominican church from XIV century, Holy Ghost Church with hospital from the XIV century
and tenements houses rebuilt in Old Town.
